For me, health is SOO much more than workouts, diets and that squat-booty we see all over nowadays. Like the quote "Yoga is not about tightening your ass, it's about getting your head out of it". And yes workouts and food is a important part of health, but a lot of people forget to nourish the other part, for me maybe the most important. Because it doesn't matter if you eat all the broccoli and kale in the world if you doesn't feel happiness....right? Even if we eat perfectly right from the books, doing our workouts we still can get symptoms and illnesses. Because (I think) - health is coming from INSIDE - OUT.
Yes it's true I really believe that health is coming from inside out. The state of our mind and soul will reflect everything we do.
And like you already know - it's all about this damn balance. Actually everything here in life is about balance. A balance between letting go and stay. A balance between staying grounded and fly away. And we need that balance in everything we do. The food, exercises, relationships, career, sleep and so on. And for "finding" = creating that balance it's SO important to always be true to yourself.
I think the most important to stay healthy is 1. Self love, 2. Knowledge. Self love is to take care about yourself and your body. We have to start there. When you love yourself, understanding how food, sleep, people, feelings etc can affect you and your body, you stop to only choose healthy choices because of media or other people tell you to do it. You start to do it for YOU. Because you are aware and taking concussions actions because you understand how things effecting you and your body. And that's an act of self-love.
I have really realized how much the mind and spirit is effecting us. How important it is to ALWAYS follow your heart and intuition. That's self-love. You need it SO you can love others. Like you already know, your relationship with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship you have.
So let's start there. How is your relationship with yourself? Are you doing what you want? Are you where you want to be? Can you stay present? Feel grateful? Experience the feeling of being alive?
Invest and take yourself some alone time and just be with this questions. And yes, its easier to just ignore, because "its too big questions". "too much". "too complicated." But it's so worth it to just be honest to yourself and give yourself a break in life, a "check in call". How is life? How is everything going? Do I control life or is life controlling me? What can I do to change if I'm not happy with where I am?
Prioritize you. Invest in you. Take time to just be quiet and let the soul speak. Make sure to spend some time alone everyday. Turn off you phone more often. Come back to the present moment. That's health. And oh yes we need to move our bodies everyday. We need to take care of our temple. That's health too. But let's start in the right end. Do it for the right reasons.
Eat healthy food for helping our body to do the great work. For nourish our cells and our own healing process. Yes let's be active. Our body need movements. We need to sweat. We need to drink water for hydrating. We need to sleep between 22-06 for too many reasons. We need the feeling of freedom. And so on. But like I said, do it for the right reasons. SELF-LOVE BABY. And from there we can create this balance. Because we know. We know what we need.
We learn how to protect our energy and act from self-love. We learn to say no. We learn to say yes. We start to understand that we cant always be there for everyone. We know it's okey to cancel a commitment. Its' okey to not answer that call. It's okey to change your mind. It's okey to want to be alone. It's okey to speak up. It's okey to let go.
Healthiness is a lifestyle. Nothing we can buy. Never a quick fix. And we have to remember that everything is always changing. NOTHING IN LIFE IS CONSTANT. Nothing. That's why we need to create a loving relationship with ourselves and healthy lifestyle so we can stay present and enjoy every day.
Find our own type of activities that give you the endorphin's. Find your circle of people who inspire you to be the best you. Return to nature and be outside everyday. Find your rhythm. Your way. You are the creator. And let's remind ourselves to not be too serious about everything. Health is not about counting calories or feeling guilt. Don't be too hard on yourself. Everything is always changing so be gentle to yourself. Have fun. You are doing enough. You are enough.
Much love, xx
